CIQ Rolls Out Ascender Installer for Kubernetes Platforms
Automation is the cornerstone of modern enterprise infrastructure, and CIQ is at the forefront of this revolution. We are excited to announce the rollout of Ascender installers for all Kubernetes-based platforms. Ascender governs the automation of Rocky Linux management at scale as well as workloads, networking, devices, public clouds, and other infrastructure at an enterprise level.
With this rollout, we’re responding to community demand by simplifying the deployment of an automation platform, ensuring accessibility for a broader audience. Ascender offers a turnkey deployment solution with Kubernetes, making it a cost-effective and well-supported platform for infrastructure automation at scale. It leverages open source Ansible AWX and includes a full suite of turnkey, supported, open source Ansible playbooks created and maintained by CIQ. This ensures that you have all the tools you need to govern the automation of Rocky Linux management as well as workloads, networking, devices, public clouds, and other infrastructure at an enterprise level.
The Ascender installer is designed to get you up and running in no time. Whether you are a Kubernetes expert or a Linux novice, Ascender allows you to automate your enterprise infrastructure on any platform within minutes. The installer is available now at the Ascender Installer Github repository, complete with simple instructions to guide you through the installation process.

Watch our Ascender Overview to understand how anyone using a product based on upstream Ansible AWX can easily migrate to Ascender and get CIQ’s industry-best service and support. Here are just a few reasons why you should consider moving to Ascender:
-
Simplified Deployment - With this rollout, CIQ is responding to community demand by simplifying the deployment of an automation platform. This ensures accessibility for a broader audience and makes it easier for operators to get started with automation.
-
Comprehensive Control - Ascender provides a built-in reporting capability to track patching and the current state for Rocky Linux and Windows servers. Its web-based GUI and REST API allow for easy consumption of automation by end users with varying levels of technical expertise.
-
Security and Compliance - Audit logs and access controls are built into Ascender to prevent unintended changes and production downtimes. These features also help maintain compliance, giving you peace of mind when automating complex tasks.
-
Tested and Trusted - CIQ has tested the Ascender Installer on K3s, the lightweight Kubernetes distribution fully certified by the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF). We will soon extend support to more Kubernetes flavors, starting with Amazon EKS.
Our goal for Ascender is to lower the barrier to entry for infrastructure automation by making it possible for operators to automate their enterprise infrastructure on any platform in minutes, whether they are Kubernetes experts or have never even used Linux. Today, you can go to GitHub and automatically deploy the Ascender installer on an Enterprise Linux system via Kubernetes, without having to sort through all the prerequisites and with clear documentation to guide you through the process, if you need it. This will include an installer for Amazon EKS, and we’ll continue to roll out automated Ascender deployments for every platform our customers need, as we want to ensure that anyone can run Ascender wherever they want and minimize their time to value.
