CIQ Employee Spotlight: Jodeen Borja
This week, we’re turning the spotlight on another stellar CIQ employee, Jodeen Borja. Keep reading to find out about her early passion for IT, what keeps her engaged in her field, and why she loves working at CIQ.
What attracted you to a career in IT support?
My dad was a school principal, and he allowed me to bring home damaged computers to play with. I spent my childhood collecting motherboards to build dollhouses. Since then, I have been fascinated with taking equipment apart and learning the functions of each component. Thirteen years in IT, and I’m still passionate!
What drew you to CIQ?
The people!
What do you think sets CIQ apart from other organizations?
The individuals in the company are great to work with. The company as a whole moves in sync, and most importantly, it has awesome morale!
What's your role in the company, and what do you enjoy most about it?
I’m an IT technician; I enjoy engaging with everyone in the company and providing assistance/solutions.
Describe a typical day at CIQ as an IT technician.
My typical day includes documentation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and providing resolutions to our awesome CIQ employees!
What do you do to stay motivated and inspired in your work?
Having a growth mindset and not being complacent are key. I’m amazed at everyone’s knowledge and expertise, and their willingness to share.
How do you think your work contributes to the overall success of the company?
The first thought that came to mind was an ant colony. We all contribute, and as an IT technician, documenting processes and procedures along with daily tasks helps pave the way to success and cohesion.
What advice would you offer to anyone starting a career in IT support?
Build grit, find a mentor, and acquire as much knowledge as possible.
What do you like to do in your free time?
Boxing, D&D, gardening, kayaking, and fishing with my sons.
