Navigating 2023: A Year in Review - Insights, Success Stories, and Future Trends

back at 2023 and some of the things that we've done in 23 some of the things that have happened in kind of highlights and then what to look forward to going forward into 2024 so I think one of the highlights that we've had are a couple things that we released this year with mountain and then Mountain V2 uh was exciting getting getting that out there and then having a sender come into the fold with being able to have an automation platform so that was high level from the ciq perspective what we did but I would love to hear from you guys kind of the highlights

of 23 and Jonathan you're you're next to me someone I want to make you go first oh man so and like highlight for me just personally is a little bit more formalization within the werewolf Community project werewolf you know I talk about it here a lot and part of that's just because I'm an HPC sis admin at heart and so I I see this tool that would have solved a younger me a lot of time and so I'm passionate about it from that perspective it's also the most active I've been in an open source community and so I've enjoyed that both from a development standpoint

learning go and being more familiar with working in that kind of an environment but also being on the community side and we established a uh a technical steering committee for werewolf and we have some actual policies for how we're going to run things and we're all the time conforming our practices to the policies that we set for ourselves and being involved in that process and getting to see it from the inside has just been really interesting and really exciting and and kind of an honor uh to get to do that both for ciq and as part of a a broader Community we actually had someone

come into the werewolf slack just today and he's been in there a little while now um and was just telling us how much he appreciates the work that we're doing and how how you know how much he likes the werewolf system and you know that that really means a lot to me and I'm sure the others that are working in that project so it's been cool to get to see it from this side that's fantastic this has been a different year for werewolf I feel it seems like maybe in 22 we talked about it but we didn't talk about it nearly as much as we

do now it is kind of really picked up in the last six months there were a lot of people especially at SC that stopped by the booth just to hear about it and there there's a bunch of reasons for that um there's development of course and just more awareness but there's also you know the landscape changing with licensing terms for for some of its competitors or or other communities you know being a little bit uncertain and uh so yeah looking forward to a a bright uh oops uh a a a good future a shining future for uh werewolf in in 24 building on the the

work that we've done in in 23 absolutely it has been fun to watch how that Community has grown and changed in the last even six months it's just been fun to watch I'm happy that you are a part of that Jonathan's been awesome seeing how you being there and involved in in pushing things so thank you me too and and uh and Brian's been getting more and more involved too so Brian's been leading up a lot of HPC initiative stuff within ciq uh we've got some automation that maybe he can talk about at some point uh using Ascender and and anible in general but you

know basing on werewolf and and a lot of it is automating werewolf deployment so we've been dragging Brian into to more development and more overlay uh uh development that kind of thing always happy to have more working on it and I will make Brian talk about that in a minute but I'm gonna go to Forest next so highlight for you in 23 a highlight for me in 23 um I've got a couple different things uh first off just in general kind of more directly CQ related I was really pleased to see all the interests we had around fuz ball at SC um and just kind

of in general how we've uh kind of taken some of what we heard from people there and kind of formalized some of our directions around that um so I'm really excited to see kind of where the groundwork we've laid uh especially here kind of recently following up on some of that for fuzzball uh I'm excited to see where that groundwork kind of takes us into 2024 um so a lot of exciting updates coming out there uh the big thing for me was also open source AI which I've talked about a lot on here uh but this was a huge year to kind of get to

explore that um and kind of see that really kind of become a much larger and more accessible Market vertical for a lot of people than it was um I think almost probably a year ago to the day uh because I just got my ping of my me and the AI out here today selfie uh of you know me and chat gbt on the first day it was released um you know probably a year to the day we were just talking on our webinar here about that type of technology and it's been an incredible year to see kind of that get into the hands of uh

more people in nonproprietary ways through stuff like um you know the Llama model stuff like that um so getting to take that stuff and really kind of interface some of it with obtainer and with some of our tooling um to see it run through fuzzball and some of our different tools and uh like I said to be able to containerize it running through fuzzball um and just kind of explore kind of our Cutting Edge with some of these other Cutting Edge use cases was a lot of fun this year um so as far as CQ goes those was some of the larger stuff yeah that's

interesting the the container ization piece I know Dave you'll probably talk about this in a minute but seeing more things get containerized I know you and Brian both worked a lot on that this year so it's been really interesting to see how far we've come in a year with containerization of some of these HPC apps that some of us may have thought might not ever going that way so it's been exciting yeah I'm sure Dave will touch on more of this but uh just this year has been really exciting for kind of the containerization world in general how we've all kind of got more interested

in software building materials container security it's kind of opened up a lot of kind of sub fields in containerization that weren't as previously welldeveloped um and so kind of seeing the new technology and new stuff that's coming out around that has been really fascinating absolutely thank you Forest Brian it's been a big year big highlight for me this year was with the in conjunction with the launch of Ascender I've been able to build some automation around deploying werewolf clusters using some open source tools uh and I think uh from doing demos at SC and I received like a lot of good feedback and uh it

seems like customers really want want this type of tooling and uh I'm glad to see this type of interest and looking forward to working on it more in 2024 and kind of getting this into the hands of our customers yeah Jonathan can say something yeah yeah me there part of what's been exciting to me about the work Brian's been doing has been the integration with Ascender I I've used anible for a while um but I haven't ever really used um you know anything above that anything that that gives you additional capabilities Beyond just here are some playbooks and run them on these servers please and

seeing the work that Ryan's been doing to build not only the playbooks but integrate them into a sender so that you could just deploy this system and manage your HPC environment and the rest of your you know Linux Rocky Linux environment alongside it um and make that accessible like one of the problems with trying to deploy anible awx has always been that it's just complicated you got to get kubernetes running on your own and you got to get it deployed in there and the work that we've done to make that a simpler process such that even I could deploy a little k3s and get a

sender running in it uh has been really cool to see and I'm looking forward to doing more of that uh on my own on the side perhaps absolutely thanks to the team who's been working on that it's been great it has it has definitely brought a lot of people into it that otherwise would not have been uh you start looking at automating Network the network teams typically don't want to deal with containerization or kubernetes so being able to give them an easy way to deploy it's been really exciting so more people were interested in that even at SC than I expected and uh it's it's

been really cool to have those conversations and and dig into you know part of a a tool like that is its flexibility and what different groups of people want to use it for it's really interesting to dig into absolutely Dave I see you're you're already celebrating I see banners in the background are streamers yes sir yeah I figured I had to you know kind of like get the basement spiffied up a little bit for this very special this very special uh webinar and the celebration no uh truthfully my my uh my oldest is going to turn eight on Saturday so we're we're setting up for

a birthday party but yeah it can be you know for multiple different purposes um there you go I feel like we you like there we there's so much to celebrate um and so many so many things that we've done this year so I mean one of the really really big ones although um you know uh nobody's really brought it up yet but you know there's been a lot to do with Rocky Linux this year um you know I guess I'll put it that Rocky has kind of you know uh it's weathered it's weathered a storm and it's kind of you know it's come out the

other side I think um stronger and not just Rocky but also Enterprise Linux in general has kind of weathered a storm and has has shown that it's got some resilience and has you know the the community has shown that they're resilient and that the you know the software is resilient and so that's a huge thing that happened and a big thing to celebrate over the past year um yeah uh you know seeing some of our new um like like from a product Centric view like and project Centric view some of the some of the new things that we've had come out uh like a sender

for instance and and you know see um our company sort of like creatively uh filling needs and you know looking and seeing what the community wants and what the community needs and then stepping in and filling that that's been really exciting um you know refining a bit more uh the direction that we want to go with HPC uh um orchestration through fuzzball uh you know and having those discussions and talking about it and um you know kind of like getting getting the road map together a little bit more has been really interesting and exciting to to to look at and then you know from a

personal standpoint on the obtainer side of things so Forest kind of mentioned too you know um I've been really I I think the the next big thing for uh HPC containers and I think that it's kind of containerization in general is uh taking software supply chain more seriously and really starting to think a lot more about where your software is coming from and so I've seen some gains in that this past year as far as getting that message out and getting people to start to think about that and getting people to start to consider you know where their software comes from and if they know

where it comes from and if they you know care about that and so that's been exciting um and then also from like a personal standpoint you know something I uh kind of have a passion for is training and um I feel like this past year there have been a lot of great opportunities to um you know so we we've been doing uh training for a lot of major organizations and we're really I feel like we've laid the groundwork this year for a more comprehensive and a more principled kind of way in which to train new users on our products and so I'm excited you know

where that's come from and like where where we're headed with that and then I guess maybe like finally at at a top level just our company um it's been really you you know great to see ciq kind of mature over the last year and um you know just the the the way in which uh you know different groups of the company are working together we're we're you know we're we're growing as a company and that you know as you grow you you've got to find different ways to communicate with one another and stuff and I think that we're doing a great job of doing that

so it's been great to see just all these things over the past year and I think that it's kind of launching into a great direction for 2024 I got the year right I agree da yeah yeah you did there you go so I was there for for some of the training and those were amazing having 40 50 people involved in a training class for aper was really exciting to watch and the excitement around it and just it's become a household name in HBC everybody knows who AER is and what it does it's fantastic and the excitement around what else they can do with it a

lot of the feedback of things they want to see in it so thank you thank you for put all the time in that Dave I know that is a lot of work and it has gone a long way Brian I know you've done a lot on the the werewolf side Jonathan with him Forest really appreciate you guys and what you've been doing so to me it's been watching our community grow from a customer base we have a lot of really new and exciting customers that have brought some really cool and exciting workloads to us and different things they're doing with it so really want to

say thank you to our customers that's been the fun part for me continue to deal with all of you guys and kind of how can we help how can we watch you guys grow and how can we enable not only science but just Enterprise in general so that that was my highlight for the years watching watching our customer base get bigger so Dave you did touch on one thing that I don't know that we talked about and I I probably glossed over it early on is that Linux did go through or Enterprise Linux did go through a little bit of a hiccup earlier this year

and out of that came an amazing relationship and Partnership of some unlikely companies Banning together to to address the issues and kind of see if we can move things forward in a in a much more open communitive way and I want to say thank you to Oracle and sus uh great partners that we have in open Ela really excited to see where open Ela goes next I don't know if anybody wants to kind of dive into what open Ela is kind of at a high level yeah so if you're not familiar I know you are Zane but for for those watching um you know one

of the threats that Enterprise Linux faced this year uh was access to the the collection of source code that we used to build it and you know in historically uh that collection of source code has kind of deao been standardized by a single company and that company J made business changes or decisions of their business plan for how they were going to make that code available so open Ela has been stood up as a partnership between ciq Oracle and Souza to uh curate that source code uh going forward and right now um that's maintaining parody with an upstream for what you know we refer to

more generally and generically as Enterprise Linux uh 8 and N um but the future is open and uh we don't yet know what Enterprise Linux 10 will look like and we're we're passionate about making sure that control of and ownership of and access to that uh the source for that future uh remains in the community and that Community isn't just those three Partners uh it's also the software vendors who build applications on top of uh this platform and that's you know that's been the history of how ciq got involved here in the first place uh we were building an application that's fuzzball that was going

to be dependent on the Enterprise Linux platform and the specific build that we were going to be using uh was its future became uncertain so we needed a new one and you know we're we're interested in this and making sure that there's an Enterprise Linux platform that we can build our products on for sure but we're not alone in that and uh if if you uh are interested in being part of that community and making sure that the enterpriser Linux platform remains supportive of your goals whether you're a software vendor or an HPC site or an Enterprise site or a cloud site um we'd love

to have you as part of that community and Define what the el10 generation and Beyond looks like um then then the downstreams continue to exist you know our partners Oracle and Su they'll each have Downstream builds of that and Rocky Linux we're hoping will be supported by that um but there's value regardless in having this community maintained consistently available and always open source for an Enterprise Linux platform thank you for that Jonathan I think one of the fun things for me to see at SC was how often I saw ciq people in su's booth and su's people in our booth that was really it was

a little odd and then it was just really cool all at the same time I don't know I found that awesome there there are other Partnerships too like I know I was over there and some of their C some of the people were in our booth because we worked together on werewolf and I'd love to see more Partnerships between our two companies but we shall see absolutely yeah there's a lot of other stuff going on John B I'm very thankful open La thank you thank you John appreciate it Greg uh in this day and age it's crazy to think that companies and people supporting open

source need to work together to keep open source software available it's such a true statement yes it is odd to think of that but that is seems to be kind of where we're at a lot of companies change directions on open source like to say they are open but in the end they're just leveraging open source to create a proprietary tool so and ultimately like that can be fine uh but it it's easy to lose sight of the fact that open source is the people people in it and it doesn't just exist as a platonic ideal on its own it only exists and survives and

thrives in so far as we supported in doing so and it it exists as a tool for us to collaborate if we stop collaborating if we stop working together it it dies too and all the value that we got out of it goes away with it and so yeah Partnerships like this are great absolutely and from a partnership perspective all the cloud vendors it's been a great year for us in marketplaces Google our relationship with Google's always been fantastic it just gets stronger and stronger so really appreciate the Google relationship that we have um Colin and team are doing a great job over there to

to grow that and then Amazon Oracle obviously so it's been a great year when it comes to just relationships from ciq to other other large entities that are kind of embracing what we're doing and see us valuable and that's another like takeaway for me from this year and you know we are all historically HPC people uh here or there's 's a lot of HBC experience here so it's easy to think of it in terms of like an experience from one SC to the next one super compute conference and to compare like the 2022 conference people didn't know who ciq was lots of people didn't know

what Rocky Linux was let alone aper and probably werewolf that was completely changed uh in 2023 um people were coming to talk with us because they knew about our products and wanted to learn more about them and you know some of that is really good for CQ you know I work here I'm excited to see that from a business standpoint but I'm also really excited to see it from a community standpoint people know what Rocky Linux is because it is the open Enterprise Linux and people know what werewolf is because it is the open and freely available cluster management solution and I was so glad

to get to tell them about a sender because they came what is this automation platform what is well it's a community available open- Source easily Deployable build of the thing you already know anible awx and if you uh want that and need help with it you can do that here and uh I I expect we'll just keep doing more and more of that in the community kinds of stuff uh with CQ yeah I want to Echo that I want to Echo that especially you know from from uh the experiences at SC that was really really nice um the fact that so so you know two

years ago at the supercomputing conference um a lot of people came to our booth and we're just like ciq what's that what's Rocky you know what are you guys doing and um you know today or I mean last um you know the last uh meeting over the three days I don't even know how many people I spoke to uh maybe a lot it was a lot yeah it was a lot and um I I can only think of one person off the top of my head who kind of came up and was like you know ciq what's that and so and then Rocky what's that

and I kind of started to tell him you know what it was and what was going on and then when I found out like where he was from I was like oh well you know you're because he was kind of like well what need does this fill and what's what you know and when I found out what organization he was from I was like oh well it turns out that your organization has a pretty big support contract with us for Rocky and he was like really I was like yeah and so um yeah so it it was It was kind of cool that like you

know of of the people I spoke to there might have been more but only one kind of really sticks out in my mind but it was definitely huge change from the year before um you know I've kind of talked about this before but like um you know when we were starting Singularity which became Apper um you know six years ago or something like that we went to the the first SC after we had come together as a community and really kind of started that and it like we didn't have a booth we didn't have any funds to you know to do anything we had like

a gorilla marketing kind of campaign where we just had flyers and other people's booths and uh we set up this you know Greg really figured out how to do this like um this uh um what do you call it scavenger hunt and just all this kind of stuff uh after another year or two at SC I was in all these meetings where you know birds of a feather talks these different things that had nothing to do with containerization and you would go in and you would sit down and then the topic of containerization would just come up organically because it touches so many different things

and people would just start talking about Singularity of course we use Singularity everybody uses Singularity you know and it was like it was so amazing to see that change over a couple years from like this completely unknown entity brand new that we just trying to get um some some word out about to being this like household name like and now you know Apper ciq I feel like over the over the difference between uh 2022 and 2023 that kind of happened right for ciq and aper and where you know to some extent werewolf and some other of the projects that we support Rocky especially Rocky yeah

yeah yeah Rocky definitely yeah I thought it was interesting we had I can think of three different groups of people that we know some of them are customers actually used our booth as their Central meeting place whenever they would get scattered out they would always meet back at our booth because that's just kind of what they felt at home so that was really cool to see that we're now kind of a hub for a lot of people that's where they wanted to come and hang out and spend time and that's where they they felt like they were drawn back to so that was a really

cool thing to hear not just from one but from a couple different groups that was fun I really like this sensation of ciq being a bit of a Switzerland or open source software and and the communities kind of around it um we're we're kind of got our hands in a lot of things but it's at a base level and we just want to support people in the work they're doing so yeah great it's always good to have more more customers and more partners and and more people in the community absolutely so I wanted for those of you who are watching let us know your thoughts

of what you're looking forward to in 24 but I'm GNA from our side start off with Forest what are you looking for in 24 kind what are your goals what would you like to see um in 24 I'm really excited to see the development that we have planned for our fuzzball product and that side of things um we've got like I said I've kind of D so like what's been said here had really strong interest in buzzball at SC uh I was basically doing demos you know wall toall for a great portion of the time um so people were really excited to see that people

were really excited about kind of the potential that that has and kind of the interfaces and capabilities that provides to customers um so we got a lot of great feedback there about kind of what people are interested in seeing as far as new features things like that in it um we've really got kind of a solid road map at the moment moving forward into 2024 for where that product is going to go what we're kind of kind of be targeting with that um and I'm really really interested to see that followed up on um wish we could talk about it more because it's it's really

exciting yeah exactly that's kind of like that's why earlier when you know y what's exciting about 2023 I kind of had to dance around this a little bit because it's difficult to talk about but so thank you Jonathan for you know pointing that out um but yeah we've got a lot of really fascinating stuff coming with that I'm super excited to see um kind of where we're going in 2024 fit into what we have you know planned for even Beyond 2024 with that um we've already been putting a ton of effort like I said this year into making sure that uh some of the most

Cutting Edge applications and kind of use cases of the now are available on it um and so it's I'm super excited to see where that goes in 2024 um Ascender is also something I'm particularly excited about I haven't worked with anible a ton but uh one of my big exciting things I did this year was deployed um using a sender on you know kind of my home stack uh Brian's traditional HPC deployment um so just getting to get in there and Tinker around with a sender and see how anible um has such power for HBC and stuff um I'm excited to kind of see a

little bit more of what people do with that and kind of where that goes um but my biggest excitement like I said is about what we have planned as far as fuzzball goes and kind of where our Direction uh with the cloud and with things like that is going as far as that thank you Forest I would ask about Ai and ml for next year but I know that would be like an entire webinar end of itself of what we expect to see in 24 we could we could see anything I mean we just had uh the big open AI mixup where Sam mman got

ousted and 700 of his 770 people said oh we're out if he's not back and then they brought him back and uh so it's it Still Remains an incredibly contentious time um like I said open source AI was huge this year with meta releasing a couple of their models so that's really kind of given everyone I want to say like a Fighting Chance versus all the proprietary stuff that's out there um so like honestly Anything could happen we can see you know I'll be slightly sarcastic and say we could see nothing or we could see the Terminator as usual it's it's um AI continues to

uh Advance just I mean by the week sometimes with what's coming out in there and uh it's still kind of been Anything Could Happen tyght field very cool thank you Forest Brian it's going to be a big year already got a lot of stuff lined up for you to work on so it's it's GNA be a big year oh yes definitely uh more automation better tools for HPC administrators and my work at ciq has predominantly been with academic institutions so I'm excited to work more more with those types of customers and I'm most excited for the types of success stories that we'll be able to

tell at next year's SC so yeah really looking forward to that absolutely look looking forward to the integration of some of these tools together with other other parties oh yes definitely definitely on the road map it's GNA be very cool there's another academic institution that we're going to get you connected to very soon so another exciting one Dr godlove what are you looking for in 24 personally I can't wait to hone my ski bike skills that's a whole but that's a whole different uh conversation back it's actually time is it it it's everything's open now oh yeah oh yeah I've been doing it um yeah

uh but yeah so uh from from you know from a professional level um I like I like I kind of alluded to before I'm kind of excited because I feel like we've laid the groundwork and we've got pieces in place to really um expand and professionalize our training uh you know the the the training that people can get and kind of scale it out in such a way um that you know we can make our training more of like a you know a professional kind of training course so that's something I'm super excited about I'm also I share forest and everybody else's uh excitement about

fuzzball and you know what's coming down the pipe with fuzzball um you know I I think that if we're looking at predictions too um one of the things that you know I was struck by and and also about uh you know like I I heard other people were struck by as well at this past SC was how much of a cloud presence there was and how like HPC I mean it's been coming for years but I feel like uh it's really kind of reaching a critical mass now where it's you know HPC centers are really expected you know not just by administrators or something but

also by users to have some kind of a cloud presence and to have some sort of an ability to run workflows on the cloud and and I'm excited about that development and how um fuzzball fits into that that uh ideal and that landscape and how we can help people uh in the coming year with with those kinds of workflows and then I'm also just like um interested and excited about Ela and uh you know how what what kinds of developments are coming um you know that kind of stuff is hard to predict but I'm really I'm excited to see what's going to happen in that

space and with that community and um you know I mean I guess to be blunt like how much of a lead uh Ela is going to end up taking uh in the coming year I mean I think that's a that's a really exciting thing to to watch and there's other stuff too but that's just what jumps jumps to mind right off the bat yeah I I'm interested to see where open Ela goes as well I think that thing came together so fast we've talked about what would it look like if for a long time and when it the if finally happened how quickly that got

put together and has taken kind of a an interesting Direction so yeah I'm with you I'm I'm anxious to see what that looks like for sure Jonathan yeah so I if I can I just look back on the history like 2022 and the beginning of 23 were a period of just rapid growth for ciq you thanks in no small part to the frankly overwhelming response that we had from the community for Rocky Linux and interest in it just generally but also in our customer base and uh the kind of middle to back half of 23 has from my perspective I hope this isn't isn't too

much to say but it it's been a backfilling period of how do we cope with just all of this demand and all of this interest and all of the new stuff that we need to be able to do in order to support all this work people want to do on Rocky Linux and with our other products and so one of the things that's been kind of reimagined and re-envisioned is you know we we want to strengthen our activities in and commitment to the the open communities that we're a part of because that's where all of this is coming from and so part of or one

of the things on my plate for 2024 and something I'm really excited to be a part of is being a part of ciqs relationship with those open source communities uh whether it's open Ela uh or rocky Linux more specifically uh or werewolf and the Linux Foundation through aper and and anything that we might be involved in um you know developing policies and releasing our own new open source stuff out of ciq and and how we contribute patches Upstream all of that uh is something you know we want to be known as as a a positive driving force from the community side but also the development

side in these communities and I'm really excited to to be a part of that at CQ in 24 it's great Jonathan absolutely it's one of the reasons I was excited to be here was open source first so I I thank you for bringing that up one of the things that I'm looking forward to seeing and we talked about this for a while seeing what's going on in HPC and kind of how it's starting to come together with Enterprise like we see that the two starting to merge it seem like it's been really slow I think in 24 it's going to go a lot faster I

think we're going to start to see more and more overlap I'm having conversations now with customers potential customers where I'm not just talking to an Enterprise Linux team or an Enterprise set of people they're bringing the two together so you'll at the exact same time be talking to an HPC team and an Enterprise team that traditionally don't even know the other part of the company exists so that's been really fun to see those two coming together and collaborating I know containerization has brought a lot of that together so talking about how they do cicd and taking that from the Enterprise and then talking about how

HPC gets involved in Cloud out and how does Enterprise actually run HPC workloads on HPC that that's been really interesting to watch and I'm really looking forward to more of that in 24 that's what I'm happy about Awesome Forest yeah you guys me just one second I have something that I want to share certainly my screen sharing is gonna let me do this now if I should be nervous all of a sudden doing a live demo no I just want to share something but I'm kidding oh no he shared going away there we go next to the yeah that's what happens we're gonna wait be

back there he is he actually got back pretty quick Dave that was very quick faster than normal yeah faster than I do it if I have a problem like that man there we go all right I just wanted to show this off real quick here at the end of of our discussion about eil charts and stuff like that or the end of our discussion about Rocky and all that this is our latest um eil chart which is something that we've kind of tracked at ciq for some time it's basically the check-ins um in this case for Enterprise Linux 8 and N instances that are over

one week of age uh to the eil repository which is extra packages for Enterprise Linux it's basically a bunch of um kind of extra interesting useful packages that people build and make available um I'm trying think like Apper for example is in EO um so you can pull it down from there I just wanted to share we've been keeping track of this for a while but you can kind of see our growth in Rocky Linux this year is meteoric um as far as people checking in there so while this isn't like an exact uh you know this is checking into eil not everyone's using eil

Etc you know there's some drift here between um you know probably the actual this is a pretty good representation of kind of how we've seen some pretty extreme growth this year in Rocky Linux um so very exciting it's at least an interesting and encouraging indicator yeah exactly it is that third bullet point is mind-blowing to me because I remember when we were happy to get to 10 million and now we're at over a billion instances in Cloud alone that's just mind-blowing yeah it's very very cool so very cool thank you to the the rocki community for all the work that you've been doing to make

that that curve go that way it's been fantastic fun to watch for sure absolutely and all the perseverance this year versus you know kind of some of the adversity that's come down the pipe there it's uh it's great to still see the community as enthusiastic as it is and to see how much you know active development and just how big that continues to grow so thank you all very exciting absolutely we do have a comment from Rose she's not supposed to be paying attention to this stuff yeah where's Rose at where I was just gonna ask Rose is on vacation Rose is on vacation she's
