migrate2rlc: One Script, Any Distro, Rocky Linux from CIQ

Migrating between Enterprise Linux distributions traditionally requires a full reinstall—until now. The migrate2rlc script converts your existing EL 8 or EL 9 system to Rocky Linux from CIQ (RLC) in-place with a single command and one reboot. No reinstall, no data loss, no extended downtime beyond the reboot window.

Supported migration targets

migrate2rlc supports in-place migration from all major Enterprise Linux distributions, as well as a blue/green migration path from Amazon Linux 2 on AWS.

Quick start

On a single machine

Run the following command as root, substituting your portal credentials:

sudo bash migrate2rlc.sh -r -t rlc-plus -u YOUR_USER -p YOUR_TOKEN

Using an Ansible playbook

Recommended for multi-host environments. Works best with Ascender Pro:
